JAKABOL WITH WUPIE & TRIAL TAPES

The Guardian once described heavy folk-prog chameleons JAKABOL as “bucolic one moment, psychotic the next.” The Bristol based experimental outfit carve their own path through a kaleidoscopic, genre bending, musical world. They are as at home in the landscape of pastoral folk as they are in the maelstrom of heavily distorted metal and psych rock freak outs.   INSTAGRAM | SPOTIFY | BANDCAMP | YOUTUBE   Live show promotion footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmD906_M_CM Video download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ex4RQCbHPYvR2tRgAGgRsolmQy7fgaYE/view?usp=drive_link   Manchester based alt-rockers WUPIE, is a group project formed and fronted by Ross Bagley. With influences ranging from jazz, electronica, and folk; wupies music is a dynamic mix of woozy guitars, ambient soundscapes, and loose-limbed rhythms – all tied together with humble songwriting and melodic sensibility at its core. TRIAL TAPES began during what songwriter Jack McNally calls “a euphoric and quietly transformative” stretch between 2022 and 2024. Having returned to Liverpool after over a decade in Brighton, newly out of the closet and starting over, he began writing songs in isolation, reconnecting with music as a form of catharsis and discovery. Blending warped guitars, motorik drums, and lush analogue synths with emotionally candid lyrics, Trial Tapes delivers a sound that’s raw, scuzzy, and quietly defiant. Influences range from Kim Deal and Jai Paul to T. Rex and Courtney Barnett, all reinterpreted through a distinctively queer lens. Trial Tapes’ debut EP 5 Notes is set for release on May 5th 2026.
