Booking a table is recommended, but you can just turn up if you’re happy standing. Yamakozo is a band led by artist Alexander Allen. Alex is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter and composer known primarily for his virtuosity on the guitar. Alex began playing guitar at an early age initially inspired by rock music and bands like Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. He went on to develop an interest in the music of John Coltrane and Miles Davis in his youth which coincided with him learning to play piano, drums and double bass. Now Alex is at the Guildhall School of Music as a student of jazz music. He has performed, recorded and written music with artists such as Peonie and Silverhours. Yamakozo as a band also boasts of some notable performances of original music in the past years having played at Alfie’s in London as well as The Ivy in Manchester and more. Tonight, expect an evening of live music that breaks down boundaries between genres, blending Funk grooves with jazz improvisation and Rock energy sure to captivate any audience.
