Having played together for some time the Gavin Barras trio have developed a strong musical identity based around their love for the ‘piano less’ trio format. The band explore the music of the classic trio albums by jazz legend Sonny Rollins such as ‘Way Out West’ and ‘Live at the Village Vanguard’. Collectively the musicians have performed all over the world at jazz festivals and renowned jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s in London and The Blue Note in Tokyo.
