After spending his formative years with a residency at Matt & Phred’s in the mid-00's, Jamie is delighted to return to one of his favourite clubs for his Northern Album-Launch. He is currently artist in residence at the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club every Wednesday. Celebrating his brand new release, ‘Momentism’ on Chilltone Records, "one of the biggest talents of British jazz piano” (The Observer), Jamie Safir is joined by two of Manchester’s finest - Luke Flowers (Drums) and Joshua Cavanagh-Brierley (Double Bass) - at M&P’s for the UK launch of his debut recording as a bandleader and composer. Drawing on a wealth of musical influences from the melodic lyricism of Bill Evans and Michel Legrand alongside the post-bop rhythms of Wynton Kelly and Ahmad Jamal, ‘Momentism’ is a collection of original jazz and neo-classical compositions inspired by a ten-year career collaborating with some of the world’s great vocalists and artists including Laufey, Kylie Minogue, Ian Shaw, Mica Paris, Will Young, Judi Jackson, Natalie Williams, Claire Martin, Clare Teal, Jessie Ware & Birdy. “Piano rising star Jamie Safir.” - The Guardian “ As for Safir, he is perfect throughout, his solos little gems of creation…. He rescues with sudden outbursts of colour.” - Jazz Journal
