Booking a table is recommended, but you can just turn up if you’re happy standing. An intimate evening celebrating the timeless music of Billie Holiday, with the Ellen Beth-Abdi band! Vocalist Ellen Beth-Abdi leads a superb quartet featuring Bim Williams (guitar), Andy Patterson (double bass) and Ruben Sheridan (drums), performing both Holiday’s most evocative songs and some less-known treasures. Expect moving interpretations of classics such as ‘God Bless the Child’, ‘Strange Fruit’, ‘Don’t Explain’, ‘All of Me’, ‘Summertime’, and ‘Lady Sings the Blues’. The band brings subtlety, swing, and soul to each tune, creating a night that honours Billie’s legacy without imitation. As well as the classic Holiday material, the band will explore jazz standards synonymous with her style.
