The battle commences at 8:45pm, outside M&P’s on Tib Street, when both bands will parade the Northern Quarter in true New Orleans style… Feel like you’ve been transported to Mardi Gras as you dance in the street to some of the best music ever written. From 9:30pm, each band takes their turn to perform a full, epic set of music. This will give you a flavour of what each band is all about; and how they bring their unique style to the genre. Then… BOTH BANDS take to the stage and dance floor. Yep, two full brass bands battling it out. It’s no exaggeration to say that the roof is going be raised like never before. New York Brass Band Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Hot 8, Youngblood and Brassroots, NYBB pack a powerful punch of relentless drums, rumbling tuba and wailing horns… nothing kicks a party into gear like the sound of a smokin’ New Orleans Mardi Gras Jazz Band. Heavy Beat Brass Band HBBB’s performances are a fusion of traditional jazz, funk, and modern elements, creating an irresistible blend of rhythm and melody that keeps the crowd dancing all night long.
