Marti Perramon was born in Spain before settling in London, learning at an early age the dual need to adapt, but to ultimately listen to your gut. After his parents separated, Marti joined school without knowing a word of English: he was, however, increasingly fluent in the universal language of melody, having been shown at home everything from his Mum’s tradition of flamenco to the timeless soul of Ray Charles. Self-taught all the way from the words to the music, Marti Perrmanon now marries that hyper-sensitivity with borderless musicality: today, influences range from the intricate songwriting of Clairo to emotionally-unguarded rap heroes like Mac Miller or Brockhampton.
