Heartsmith is a Manchester-based three-piece band blending Americana-tinged emotive pop with a distinctive, heartfelt approach. The band consists of singer-songwriter Ryan Lamey, Gemma Lovegrove on guitar, bass, and backing vocals, and Dan Parr on piano and keyboards. With a foundation in rich harmonies, soaring vocals, and intricate instrumentation, Heartsmith crafts original songs that explore relationships and life experiences from a queer perspective while reinterpreting classics with their unique style. Individually, the members of Heartsmith bring an eclectic range of musical influences, spanning power pop, experimental rock, folk, classical, and musical theatre. Together, they create music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant, offering soulful performances infused with warmth and humour. Their sets feature a mix of Ryan’s past work, newly penned Heartsmith originals, and unexpected cover choices—from 80s pop and 90s metal to early 2000s dance anthems—all reimagined in their signature lush sound.
